Sustainability at events can have many different faces. There is no universal solution:

As individual as the great projects are, as countless are the measures that can be developed and implemented.

The challenge is to identify the specific ecological, economic and social fields of action and to harmonise sustainability with the planning processes.

YOUR ADVANTAGES:

– Identify specific action improvement in event planning and -execution

– Achieve best practices in efficiency and performance

– Defining roles and responsibilities of employees, subcontractors and suppliers

– Reduce costs through better energy and waste management

– Integrate with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 to achieve even better results

ISO 20121:2012, the international standard for sustainable event management, offers comprehensive assistance for this very purpose:

May it be stakeholder involvement and communication, the development of guidelines and checklists, or performance evaluation and action control based on measurable indicators.

A final internal and external audit additionally allows for a recognised certification to prove the commitment.

For the new year, NIYU has therefore now also acquired in-house competences for implementation & internal audit to further advance sustainability in the event industry!

Background info:

ISO 20121 was significantly developed with the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and represents the internationally recognised standard for sustainable event management. The standard can be applied to any organisation or event that commits to sustainable planning and implementation in accordance with the guidelines. Recognised certification by independent third parties is possible. The special characteristic is that the standard applies to the management system and thus goes far beyond technical measures.
