Post pandemic situation in the event industry

The number of planned events is constantly increasing. At the same time, more than a quarter of skilled workers migrated to other sectors during the Corona crisis and many service providers and suppliers had to file for bankruptcy. This puts the organizers under more and more pressure:

How can you make my event fail-safe? Where do you get reliability?


In live communication, there are on the one hand very short planning times and increasingly tight implementation periods on site and on the other hand an increasing shortage of materials in all sectors. The biggest problem, however, is the shortage of skilled workers. For the event and catering industry, the now rapidly increasing demand for offers is both a blessing and a curse.


The industry will be more and more subject to a “seasonal work model“! This will affect the price structure of the personnel and especially the technical equipment. Those who plan an event between October and April can expect lower prices than those who schedule between May and September.

Extremely expressed: There will be stock exchange-like conditions. An example: A LED wall for a trade show will no more always cost around 800€/sqm. A trade show in spring will get cheaper offers than a trade show in summer. Possible prominent examples are on the one hand the Geneva International Motor Show at the beginning of the year compared to the second major auto industry trade show IAA in September.

Both, costing and planning-timing, must therefore adapt to this “seasonal work”.
