Successful innovation strategy of macomGROUP

Ranking improved in IT and communications service provider category

After 2018 and 2019, macomGROUP was again awarded the Innovation Award Seal by Focus Money and Deutschlandtest in 2020. As reported by Focus in its 06/20/20 issue, macom ranked second in the IT communications service provider category, an improvement of six places over the previous year.

By receiving the seal three times, macomGROUP repeatedly demonstrates the success of its continuous innovation strategy. “We are proud of this three-time award. It not only shows that our innovation strategy works. The strategy is also perceived on the market. It is not for nothing that we are a market and innovation leader in the European AV industry,” Björn Jensen, Managing Director of macom, explains the significance of the award.

Successful innovation strategy of the macomGROUP

In its innovation strategy, macomGROUP benefits from continuous market observation and its high level of expertise in developing future scenarios. Thus, the company’s own services are constantly developed further along predicted customer needs. “In addition, we are launching new services on the market, such as macomVIZ, an AR/VR application that accelerates the planning process of modern working environments,” Jensen explains.

To bundle its innovation strategy, macomGROUP established its internal Business Innovation Team in October 2018. Complementing the macomLAB innovation hub, macom established a new location at the FTZ Digital Reality of the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW) in October 2019. In a close collaboration between research and business, new digital reality solutions are created there. Not only macomVIZ has emerged from this cooperation, macom has also founded the digital reality start-up Mindfine with former students of HAW in January 2020.
